It was designed by Li pan, an architect studying in France. The main design style of the hotel is the most popular decorative art in Shanghai in the 1920s and 1930s. It has won the reputation of 'the third largest hotel in the Far East'. It used to be a social resort where Ruan Lingyu, Hu Die and other old Shanghai movie stars competed to appear. Therefore, the hotel reserved this song as the background music of each room, and also named a suite in the name of 'Rose'. This suite has become one of the hotel's landmark suites and is loved by many guests. In 2009, Yangzi hotel came out again after a brand-new decoration. While retaining the main design style of decorative art, it also integrates the old Shanghai style of the 1930s. It makes every guest in the hotel feel as if they are going back to the golden age of old Shanghai to experience the charm and style of that time.
